Out-of-court settlement of disputes

The conciliation board of the Federal Chamber of Lawyers (Section 191 et. seq. German Federal Lawyers’ Act – “Bundesrechtsanwaltsordnung” – BRAO) of the German Federal Bar (“Bundesrechtsanwaltskammer”; www.s-d-r.org) is a consumer dispute resolution body in accordance with German Consumer Dispute Resolution Act (“Verbraucherstreitbeilegungsgesetz”).
Information to consumers in accordance with Section 36 German Consumer Dispute Resolution Act (“Verbraucherstreitbeilegungsgesetz”): We are not obliged to participate in dispute resolution procedures before consumer dispute resolution bodies and so we do not participate in such dispute resolution procedures.
In the event of disputes between lawyers and their clients, application may be made for the out-of-court settlement of disputes to the regional bar, Munich (“Rechtsanwaltskammer München”) [in accordance with Section 73 (2) item 3 in conjunction with Section 73 (5) German Federal Lawyers’ Act “Bundesrechtsanwaltsordnung” – BRAO].
